I got a rotor and cap from Autozone not long ago. They had to get them from the main warehouse, but it was morning/afternoon service.

Yeah, the distributor cap looks brand new, spring is there and making contact. I tried starting it in the dark looking for sparks to see if the cap is cracked, but nothing. It can literally only be the rotor I'm guessing?

I took it apart again, cleaned everything, assembled again. I have a proper spark at the points and at the HT lead from the coil. But nothing at the plugs.

I'll try get another rotor in the morning...

So I managed to start the old car! It turned out to be the rotor. It started on its first swing after putting it in!

The car is running incredibly rich at the moment. I have to adjust the mixture, which I will try and do tomorrow... Took it round the block still, and it was bliss!

Well done on getting it going!! It can be so frustrating but it is so rewarding when you get it right! I love your car to bits...but I am slightly biased towards Mk1s Wink
