Mini Trailer - Leykor - 10-13-2015 Hi, So I've been thinking of an alternative use for my mk1 shell and I have seen a few pictures of mini trailers like: Some have made them short and others long. Some I believe have reused the roof to make a solid top trailer. Has anyone in SA tried this? any suggestions on size/length? hard top vs soft top? More importantly is it just a case of mark, cut and weld close and weld on a tow attachment to the rear sub-frame? I'm thinking it will be a great way to practice my non existent welding/fabrication skills. RE: Mini Trailer - theMINIguy - 10-13-2015 No Umar!!! Don't do it. RE: Mini Trailer - Dion - 10-14-2015 I agree with Jared, What condition is the mk1 shell? RE: Mini Trailer - Sean1380 - 10-14-2015 I HAVE to come look at that Mk1 shell Umar. RE: Mini Trailer - DomMINIque - 10-14-2015 http://samini.co.za/showthread.php?tid=136 Here's the shell RE: Mini Trailer - Leykor - 10-14-2015 The Mk1 shell is a quite rough around the edges. The only hope for it, in its present condition, would be a full sandblast and restore. I do not have that type of money at the moment. coupled with pressure from the missus to get my projects under control I need to start doing something with it. And come on... how cute are those trailers? RE: Mini Trailer - Dion - 10-14-2015 I would take that mk1 if I lived in Jhb. Too good to cut up and make a trailer. RE: Mini Trailer - Sean1380 - 10-15-2015 I have a mate in the UK who would love it. Let me see how the weekend goes Umar - Maybe Sunday after the Jacaranda run ? |
