RE: Bolt sizes - Boyscout - 04-06-2016 Nice one Minitim! the closest I could get was this http://www.ukclassicparts.com/mini-spare-parts-and-accessories/nuts-bolts-fixings/ RE: Bolt sizes - _freak_ - 04-06-2016 Thanks indeed! Any sizes on what the Subframes use? RE: Bolt sizes - minitim - 04-06-2016 Subframe uses 10 bolts to mount to the body. 4 long ones in engine bay 4 short ones from inside the car 5/16 UNF X 3/4 Front subframe rear mounting 2 short ones through the front valence Will see if I can track down the sizes RE: Bolt sizes - GTSPhil - 04-06-2016 The 4 tower bolts have part number 21A90 and are 3/8 UNF x 4 3/8 long for dry suspension cars. The two front mountings are 5/16 UNF x 1 part number SH605081 RE: Bolt sizes - _freak_ - 04-07-2016 (04-06-2016, 05:57 PM)GTSPhil Wrote: The 4 tower bolts have part number 21A90 and are 3/8 UNF x 4 3/8 long for dry suspension cars. This is waht IĀ could gather for the Front Subframe 2 of M8 x 30 bolt M8 Spring washer M8 Nut 4 of M8 x 20 bolt M8 Spring washer M8 Nut 4 of M8 x 110 Bolt M8 Spring washer RE: Bolt sizes - minitim - 04-07-2016 The important ones are the tower bolts that are UNF, as these fasten to the subframe captive plates. The rest can be metric if you prefer. RE: Bolt sizes - GTSPhil - 04-07-2016 Guys Please do me a favour, for the same effort and will etc to go and buy metric bolts and fit them, please just fit the correct imperial bolt and or nut and keep the car as far possible correct. Now the new owner will have a hard time figuring out what bolts and nuts was used if you mix and match. Do not get me wrong as I do understand that like the front mounting bolts and the bolts through the floor will not matter if metric, but do not go and force metric bolts into the tower mounting plates. I have had to fix too many threads that have been fu++ed up due to incorrect bolts and nuts being fitted. Having recently gone through the same exercise of fitting helicoils due to metric bolts being forced to into the hubs, where the calipers mount. RE: Bolt sizes - _freak_ - 04-26-2016 Hi Could anyone source a complete bolt and nut list yet? |
