Hi people, just joined the forum, looking forward to getting my 40th Anniversary Rover Cooper, end of January 2018!

Hi Kieron and welcome to the forum. That's a lovely Japanese spec Mini. Looks good with the 12" wheels, the lovely MPi seats, steering wheel and A/C.

That's a very unusual mini for south african shores...

Im upgrading to the Sportspack spec, arches from the UK Sterling 155 including DHL, and local Autostyle 13 x 7J Minilite wheels, i will appreciate any input from you guys regarding paint preparation etc, as its been 20 years since ive owned a Cooper, cheers K

she arrives end January, and i will be pleased to show her to all the guys for their input. When sourcing there were two main considerations, UK cars are mainly manual gearbox, but never with AC, whereas Japan is 90% autos. and all have AC I figure if i want to use her as a daily, and living in Joburg, maybe try an auto! this is how im hoping she will look when finished
My last Rover Cooper i imported from UK in the '90s

welcome to the forum and congrats on this beauty. is this the one Roy Shellard was also considering bringing in? if you are bringing it in yourself, maybe start a post to inform us on the process as id love to one day own a rover sports

Hi Sooper, bought car on auction in Japan, so dont think its Roy's (is Roy the car wash Roy?)
I'm certain i have all the hurdles involved in the importation covered, as ive imported a dozen+ cars todate, mainly Skyline GTR33's
when is the next get together for the club (where does one find out meets?) hopefully here by 1st week Feb 18, cheers K
