Suspension not sitting right

Hi guys we have most work on estate. Just yesterday the mini is now not sitting level. How does this happen how do you remove rear shocks to check and what could be wrong.

The rear cones could be worn/compressed unevenly on both sides.

See pic below of the rear suspension. #1 is the cone that determines the ride hight.

Ok do we have to take them out to check. Who has new ones. How do you get them out
