Progress report
Body Work:
Nearly completed painting the underbelly with Durabak and started the bodywork over the left rear wheel arch
Surgically removed some cancer
Cut a suitable metal sheet to size (metal recycled from severely damaged back barn door)
Welded the metal sheet into place. Well done Dad!!
Closed hole in the roof. I assume there was a CB aerial in there at some stage.
Attempted to straighten the valance. Will have to reinforce this somehow.
Interior:
Cleaned Momo steering wheel that I bought from Sean Brennan and had my dash board re-covered with leather. I had the speedometer and rev counter serviced and recalibrated
Cut a piece of marine ply to size and had the word "MINI" laser cut into it. This is a cover for the spare in the cargo bay of the Estate.
Exterior:
Clubman Grill v 2.0
After 2 previous attempts at designing a suitable replacement grill, I finally have a contender. I don't think it is perfect but it is considerably better than the grill I had. It cost me R441.37 (ex vat)! If you are interested contact Louis Koekemoer at Kare Sheet Metal Products 0123792768. Use my name as reference.
