I pulled the car out while we had a little sun and took these :

Now you can see how blue she really is :
![[Image: 01C5vri.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/01C5vri.jpg)
Also, while washing the car yesterday, I realised that the RHS quarterlight window wasn't sealing properly. I had a good look this morning and it turns out that the window frame was actually sitting away from the rubber seal. Simple solution = perspex spacer :

She's now sealed and you won't know it is there, unless you look hard for it.
So, rather than be bored on a Sunday afternoon, my brother and I decided to keep ourselves entertained by fitting the grille strip to the bonnet. I'd been putting it off because of fairly poor alignment with regards to holes between bonnet and strip. Now fitted, along with the catch mechanism on the slam panel. It needs some adjustment, but that'll come later once the hinges and bits are fitted.
She finally has a completed face :

My above statement wasn't entirely true, this is what her completed face will look like :
![[Image: dTY1sNW.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/dTY1sNW.jpg)
I really do like this view, especially with the stickers underneath :
![[Image: Q6dhk3G.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/Q6dhk3G.jpg)
An almost complete exterior :

Some may not like the light covers and the tow strap, but oh well.
The next step :
![[Image: QW3V2Bp.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/QW3V2Bp.jpg)
I'll be doing this, while figuring out a seat mount for the Cobra.
So I went to have a go at the RHS tank install today, only for me to drop a fully assembled front brake hub onto my foot (no shoes I might add). After lots of swearing I gave up and will go back to it during this week.
I did give the car a wash today, just to get rid of dust and then also to clean out the boot area.

This face will greet me tomorrow.
Screw it, I was bored and I got over the pain of the foot, so my brother and I went out for an hour or two. Here's the results :
![[Image: dU2tdQw.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/dU2tdQw.jpg)
RHS tank test fitted. I need to put some spreader plates in then it'll be good to go. There's still some work to be done, but the platform is there.
So, not done much with all this varsity work that's been dumped on me, but I have prepped the boot board. Sanded it down and got all the edges straight and smooth. Not the best picture, but yeah :
![[Image: YoYstEu.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/YoYstEu.jpg)
Long weekend of crappy weather hasn't helped progress much, but I did manage to complete the boot board. I sanded down, made the frame for the box to sit in, painted and carpeted. Here it is, with bungee cords :
![[Image: yMc5vH2.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/yMc5vH2.jpg)
And in the car :
![[Image: FzA60I3.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/FzA60I3.jpg)
Not bad I think.
Tow strap now fitted for good :
![[Image: GwciCCy.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/GwciCCy.jpg)
I started a small side project today. My brother gave me a set of weather shields for the 7.5 inch discs, which started out like this :
![[Image: gXgpq4g.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/gXgpq4g.jpg)
Very battered and bruised, but after some hammering and knocking, they look like this :
![[Image: AjYaAX8.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/AjYaAX8.jpg)
They're going to soak a bit to get rid of some of the corrosion before being refurbished and fitted up to the car. Still waiting for a caliper rebuild kit and an adjustable proportioning valve for the rear subframe to come.
Those plates were left to soak in vinegar for a day and a half and came out like this :
![[Image: yL7mCSe.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/yL7mCSe.jpg)
Not bad I think. Will leave them over night in vinegar again and then start the process of cleaning up properly ready for some paint.
Made up some brackets for the dash housings to hold them in place. Managed to finish the passenger side, will do the driver's side tomorrow.
![[Image: U0Kk1BY.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/U0Kk1BY.jpg)
I managed to finish off the brackets for the dash boxes. The driver's side is now attached. It pulled the box in a little, which bothers me, but it just means I have to adjust the cutout for the check strap to move past :
![[Image: yNWkumk.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/yNWkumk.jpg)
I also finished cleaning up a few bits and pieces ready for some primer. I was going to do it today but I wasn't in the mood.
Managed to get the bonnet fitted up, but I really do need another one. This one is twisted and sits high on the driver's side at the rear, but low on the passenger side and vice versa on the front section. Consequently, the bonnet looks to be badly fitted, when it really isn't. This picture shows the gap in the front :
![[Image: IPisjgq.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/IPisjgq.jpg)
The catch just needs to be set, but I'll leave that for now as the bonnet will come off again for the motor.
I also got around to fitting the brake and clutch pipes. I still need to get around to the wiring on this thing.

Recent purchase :

Cooper S fuel cap for the second tank.
