The rebuild of Jemima Puddleduck
#41
Not much progress of late due to the cold garage floor giving me a solid dose of flu. I am taking my door and boot handles to a local locksmith to get matching keys for all three so I don't have to carry a pile of keys on my key-ring. They also do numberplates so I was thinking that I may as well get plates made up for the great day when the car is on the road BUT a question, As I have put in another engine I will have to get a police clearance and have the new engine number put onto the registration papers . Will this mean I will have to re-register the car and have a new roadworthy and new licence plates? If this is so I don't want to get plates made up and have double expense later. The local Western Cape web site is not very clear on the subject. Any advice ?

I know some people don't bother with having the vin plate and engine nr. not matching but I want to keep legal.
