Should I or shouldn't I?
#1
My brother-in-law is selling his Clubman. It's nothing special, but it is licensed and on the road, although as usual there are a couple of things that need doing. He's asking for R10k.

Pros:
It's licensed and a weekend or so of fiddling should have it on the road again.
I can probably leave it in his name until I feel like doing the COR and transfer.
I'll have a Mini to use for club runs and events.
If I change my mind I can probably strip it and more than make my money back.
Original OZ wheels.

Cons:
It's a bit ratty, and has been fiddled with (most of which should be easy enough to undo).
It's nothing rare of special, just a Clubman, and not very original.
I don't have spare money, so it will either need to run and be useful or I must strip and/or sell.

Just the fact that it's licensed and up-to-date is worth something! Looks like it started life as a 1275E.
10k is really not a bad deal if you can afford to fork out the cash.

Colin...if you take it...I want first dibs on the mags!

Not sure I would pay 10K for it. see if you can get it for less, as there is some work involved.

The OZ wheels are the main reason Colin is buying it.

Why not put a list together of what it will cost to get it on the road. Then you'll be able to see if it's in your budget or not.

Literally, imagine the damage that would do to a pedestrian or another vehicle.

The new headlights need to be wired, there is a new distributor, it needs a battery. No doubt there will be more that I find when I get it, but that's the list so far. In other words, nothing that'll cost much so far.

And sorry minitim, if I do get it, I'm ha pinging on to the wheels. Even if I don't take the car, I'll almost certainly grab the wheels before he sells it.
